Times Now’s Facebook post displays made-up Azam Khan quote
On February 15, 2019, new channel Times Now reported Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan’s reaction to the February 14 Pulwama attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
In the video byte, Azam Khan can be seen criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for using secret service agencies to spy on political opponents like Mamata Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav and Robert Vadra. He says: “If you use your agencies for political purposes, bad things are bound to happen.”
However, the thumbnail of this post quotes Khan as saying “Won’t blame Pak, won’t blame India”. This quote cannot be found anywhere in the politician’s video byte reported by Times Now. It’s a bold move to make up a quote when the video of Azam Khan’s comments is right there. Times Now also used the thumbnail on its website.
