PM Modi gives his first pre-election interview to Arnab Goswami for Republic Bharat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave his first pre-election interview to Arnab Goswami for Republic Bharat today. Goswami began the interview by asking Modi the all-pertinent question: “How is the josh?” This was in reference to the PM’s confidence before the upcoming General Elections.

The interview ahead had Goswami allowing the PM to go into lengthy responses to attacks by the Opposition. Goswami asked if Modi decided to conduct the Balakot airstrikes soon after the Pulwama attack and if he was closely monitoring the operation. He also asked why it had taken so long to initiate action against Robert Vadra and why Modi called the Opposition ‘Maha Milavat’. Modi emphasised many times through the interview that the NDA would come back to power with ‘poorna bahumat’, or a decisive mandate.

Towards the end of the interview, Goswami told the PM that in this election the nation is wondering: “Modi versus who?” Goswami repeated this a few times emphasising that in this election there was no match to the PM. Like many interviews with the PM, Goswami ended this one by asking him what he eats and what was the secret of his energy.
