'Our logo used without our knowledge': Bloomsbury India says it's not organising a launch event for Delhi riots book

Publishing house Bloomsbury India has been in the line of fire today it emerged that a book it published, titled Delhi Riots 2020: The Untold Story, is being launched tomorrow with the Bharatiya Janata Party's Kapil Mishra as one of the "guests of honour".

The violence in Delhi this year, which left over 50 dead, followed an incendiary speech by Mishra himself on February 23. Bloomsbury India's logo appears on the poster for the event, which will take place tomorrow.

Interestingly, a representative for Bloomsbury India told Newslaundry that the publishing house is not organising a launch event for Delhi Riots 2020. When asked about the poster carrying the company's logo, the representative said: "No, the authors did not inform us of this event and our logo has been used without our knowledge. We are not organizing any launch event for the book Delhi Riots 2020."

The event and its guests of honour, which include Vivek Agnihotri of "urban Naxals" fame, was widely criticised on Twitter. The book itself is, apparently, an "explosive revelation of the plot behind the riots, how they were planned and executed, how weapons were procured and stockpiled, and exactly what happened".
