RSS leader sees ‘agenda’ in news reports on corpses in the Ganga
Media reports about thousands of bodies washing up along the banks of the Ganga river were part of an “agenda”, RSS joint publicity chief Narendra Kumar has alleged according to the Indian Express.
Last month, news organisations such as Dainik Bhaskar reported that "over 2,000 bodies" had been found floating down the holy river or buried along its banks.
“Dead bodies in Ganga were also seen in 2015 and 2017. There was no Covid pandemic then," Express quoted Kumar as saying. “So to connect them to Covid now is clearly part of an agenda.”
Kumar added that while it is “fine” for the media to point out problems in the system during the pandemic, it must be done "at proper time and with care" and should “create awareness not panic”.
