Last month, Narendra Modi launched yet another scheme which is supposed to make our collective lives better. Other than Aadhaar, PAN, Voter card, driving licence, ration card, now we have a Digital Health ID. Prime Minister Modi had announced this new advancement from the ramparts of Red Fort in August 2020 last year, right when India was gripped by the coronavirus pandemic, and now its being rolled out.

Soon after the official launch, reports started emerging that some Health IDs were created without the consent of people who registered on the CoWIN app. In this episode of Sansad Watch, we explore what this Health ID is, how it works and what are the potential dangers it can pose.
