TV Newsance 171: Sudhir Chaudhary’s U-turn and bulldozers in Shaheen Bagh
The week kicked off with breathless coverage of a bulldozer in Shaheen Bagh. An Aaj Tak reporter clung on top of a JCB machine while Anjana Om Kashyap asked her viewers to wait patiently for some action. R Bharat anchors ran after the bulldozer, held discussions on what could be bulldozed and, as always, got to hear “Godi media” chants.
Meanwhile, Modi got some liberal cred for agreeing to review the sedition law – Sudhir Chaudhary championed the move in a not-so-remarkable U-Turn.
We also remember Pawan Jaiswal, the journalist from Mirzapur who lost his life to cancer last week, and take a look at what it means to be an honest journalist in mofussil India, away from flashy Delhi and Mumbai studios.
