KGF-2 copyright case: HC sets aside order blocking Cong Twitter accounts

A day after a court in Bengaluru ordered that the Twitter accounts of the Congress and Bharat Jodo Yatra be temporarily blocked, the Karnataka high court on Tuesday set aside the order in a case of alleged copyright violation of music from the film KGF-2

MRT Music had filed a case of alleged violation of copyrights – held by the firm for music from the film. M Naveen Kumar, who manages the company, had filed a complaint against three Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, for allegedly using music from the film for campaign videos.

“We have read on social media about an adverse order from a Bengaluru court against INC and BJY SM handles. We were neither made aware of nor present at court proceedings. No copy of the order has been received. We are pursuing all the legal remedies at our disposal,” the Congress earlier tweeted.

In an FIR filed in Bengaluru's Yashwanthpur, MTR Music had alleged that Congress leader Jairam Ramesh tweeted two videos that used music from the film without permission.
