Why do billionaires buy media? This week, we look at the age-old tradition of rich men and women buying and investing in the media to gain influence – Gautam Adani is only the most recent of rich Indian industrialists to have a channel of his own. Over the past few weeks, the usually shy Gautam Bhai gave interviews to India Today and India TV’s Rajat Sharma. What is the big takeaway? 

Meanwhile, Mr Facts-Are-Not-Facts Agnihotri tweeted that his film Kashmir Files has been shortlisted for the Oscars and usual suspects on TV news went on celebration mode. We turn our gaze especially to Times Now’s Navika Kumar, who did zero shows on Joshimath while dedicating two full primetime episodes to the Kashmir Files non-nomination.
