TV Newsance 212: Five stages of grief featuring Navika, Sudhir as BJP loses Karnataka
During the unraveling of the Karnataka election mandate a week ago, as Congress’ big win became more apparent, we witnessed the usual suspects on TV news go through the Five Stages of Grief.
Denial: As Rubika and Arnab could not believe that the BJP might lose. It was followed by anger as Arnab lashed out at the BJP leaders for their performance in the state. ABP, however, still had hopes of an alliance between JD(S) and BJP. Depression was brought to our TV screens by none other than our own Sudhir ji, as he predicted an economic crisis like Sri Lanka in Karnataka. Finally, the anchors accepted the result, and in a jiffy, shifted their focus to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, taking comfort in the wise old saying — Ayega to Modi hi.
In this episode, we also take a look at the latest soap opera that played on Times Now as Navika Kumar took her theatrics to another level following the arrest of her reporter.
