Best new digital product: Newslaundry app receives honourable mention at INMA Awards
The Newslaundry app received an honourable mention in the best new digital product category at this year’s INMA Global Media awards. The awards honour excellence in innovation within the news industry, showcasing the best work in pushing boundaries and driving change.
We’re thrilled at this recognition, since it highlights the power of our subscriber-driven model.
The app, funded by readers, offers features like a podcast player, in-app payments and custom notifications. With over 500 backers raising Rs 15 lakh in under two months, their support has been crucial to its development.
Our journey in developing this app involved careful planning and testing. Launched for subscribers in November 2022 and for the public in April 2023, the app is aimed at enhancing your news experience.
It took us more than a year to build the app, and months to fine-tune, debug, test and reiterate. Along the way, our subscribers also tested features and helped us improve the user experience.
A special mention to our product team that surpassed larger organisations with their dedication in delivering this app. We are committed to continuous improvement, addressing any remaining issues and introducing exciting new features.
Just as our journalism perseveres against all odds, it is the unwavering support of our subscribers that empowers us to create such products.
