TV Newsance 233: Three stages of happiness of TV news anchors over BJP’s big wins
Newsance is back after a month which saw Manisha covering the assembly polls from ground zero.
Last week, as the election results began rolling out, jubilation erupted at TV news studios over the BJP’s clean sweep in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. In fact, TV anchors ostensibly went through the three stages of happiness – joy, passion, and seeking a higher meaning of the victory.
From over-the-top graphics, to shouting and screaming, and dance moves, Aaj Tak’s Sudhir Choudhary had it all. At India Today’s studio, author Chetan Bhagat and anchor Rajdeep Sardesai could be seen singing.
Meanwhile, in the wake of the results, praise for Prime Minister Narendra Modi echoed, with the BJP sidelining leaders such as Vasundhara Raje and Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
