Scrutinising the LG’s role in the Yamuna clean-up
In January 2023, the National Green Tribunal formed a high-level committee to tackle pollution in the Yamuna. Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena was made its chairperson.
The panel has held at least 10 meetings between January 2023 and August 2024. LG Saxena attended only five, according to the response to an RTI query filed by Newslaundry.
The first meeting had come up with a seven-point action plan.
