Vikramaditya Motwane’s Netflix series has regenerated interest in Black Warrant: The Confessions of a Tihar Jailer – a book detailing former Tihar superintendent Sunil Gupta’s time at the prison and his encounters with infamous inmates.
In a conversation with Abhinandan Sekhri, Sunil and co-author and journalist Sunetra Choudhury spoke about Charles Sobhraj’s escape, police-prisoner dynamics, custodial deaths, and corruption in Tihar Jail.
