March 20, 2025: How breathable is the air at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium?

As the seven-day Khelo India Para Games 2025 kicks off in Delhi, Newslaundry reached the event’s venue, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, on Thursday, to take stock of the city’s air quality. 

The AQI reading at the nearest station was in the moderate category. While the PM 2.5 levels hovered around 90, PM 10 levels were pegged at 103. 

Earlier this month, Delhi was ranked the most polluted capital city by Swiss air quality technology company IQAir. In this episode of Aaj Ka AQI, Basant Kumar looks at the newly-elected Delhi government’s plans to conduct artificial rain trials to combat the city’s pollution, an initiative touted to be just a stop-gap measure.
