Go to Tamil Nadu, do not arrest: Bombay HC to Mumbai cops in Kunal Kamra FIR

The Bombay High Court on Friday directed the Mumbai Police to not arrest comedian Kunal Kamra in the FIR linked to his parody song on the rebellion within the undivided Shiv Sena, LiveLaw reported.

A division bench of Justices Sarang Kotwal and Shriram Modak reportedly said the agency should go to Tamil Nadu where Kamra lives and seek the help of the local police if it seeks to record his statements.

The bench had reserved its judgment on April 16 after granting Kamra interim protection from arrest.

During his performance in Mumbai’s Habitat Comedy Club, Kamra had performed a parody song that alluded to the 2022 rebellion within the undivided Shiv Sena.
