BJP MP Ram Chander Jangra on Bihar voter rolls, ‘anti-national journalists’, Dhankhar exit
In a conversation with Newslaundry, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Ram Chander Jangra insists the opposition is “exaggerating” about alleged irregularities in electoral rolls.
Hailing from a family of farmers in Haryana’s Rohtak, Jangra traces his path from the RSS and the OBC movement to Parliament. He speaks about how his anti-Congress stance drew him into politics, and how the Narendra Modi government has advanced welfare for backward classes.
On the debate over alleged language imposition, Jangra says: “Hindi is not being imposed, it’s just an option. The Modi government’s three-language formula places English at the third level. It’s the opposition that is politicising it.”
Jangra also weighs in on recent controversies linked to constitutional offices, including Jagdeep Dhankhar’s exit as vice president.
Asked about his question in Parliament about “anti-national journalists”, Jangra denies he ever asked one.
