TV Newsance 314: Modiji’s 75th birthday bash special, #MyModiStory and Godi Bhakti Olympics

This week on TV Newsance, Indian news channels went extra crazy for Prime Minister Modi’s 75th birthday; there was 10x more sucking up than usual. Besides Navika, Sushant, Sudhir, and our usual suspects, billionaires, actors, A-listers, sportsmen all dived in to wish Modiji a happy birthday. 

Full-page ads in newspapers from The Times of India to The Indian Express, wishing Modiji a happy birthday with our, yes, the taxpayers’ money. Because why spend on sewage safety when you can spend on birthday ads?

Our Godi anchors did something special and a bit different this time: #MyModiStory. Everyone shared their fondest memory of when Modiji talked to them. So sweet! This is what you called gold-standard sucking up. Sudhir went a step ahead from his co-godis and did a 2050 breakdown of ‘Viksit Bharat’. Because who cares about the state in 2025 anyway?
