Bihar’s new chapter
NDA manifesto in Bihar: 60 promises in a 60-second press conference
Days before Bihar votes in its assembly election, the NDA released its manifesto in a press conference attended by Nitish Kumar, JP Nadda, Chirag Paswan, Samrat Chaudhary and Sanjay Kumar Jha. The manifesto promised free rations, electricity and medical treatment for sections of the population, along with promises for employment and job creation.
What really caught people’s attention, though, was that the alliance took just 60 seconds to list five years’ of promises. Watch what went down.
Newslaundry also attended Nadda’s rally, held shortly after the press meeting. We spoke to a number of women in attendance, who said they’re hit hard by the state’s unemployment crisis, with people migrating to states like Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Rajasthan in search of work.
What are their hopes from a new government? And will the NDA deliver? Watch.
