Confusion in Belhar: JDU kin contesting for RJD, RJD kin contesting for JDU
The constituency of Belhar in Bihar is seeing a curious conflict this election.
In the fray is Chanakya Prakash Ranjan, the son of JDU MP Giridhari Yadav, who is contesting on an RJD ticket. He takes on Manoj Yadav, contesting on a JDU ticket but whose brother Sanjay Prasad Yadav is a minister in Jharkhand’s RJD government.
So, does family loyalty trump party fealty? Party workers claim Giridhari and Sanjay aren’t campaigning for their respective relatives. Meanwhile, residents of Belhar have their own election issues – and they need answers.
