America First, But India Second?
On January 20, Donald Trump became the 45th President of the United States of America. He vowed to put “America first”, to safeguard the interests of Americans before others. Since then, there has been a rash of videos from Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Portugal and Switzerland vying for the runner-up position.
But come on, Europe is barely holding it together right now. India is where it’s at. That’s why we’d like to make a case for “India Second”. We couldn’t actually afford Donald Trump to do the voice over (Trump’s speaking fee in 2016 was $200,000, but we’ll keep media independent and funny at far less, so subscribe to Newslaundry so that in the future, we can at least afford a Trump impersonator if necessary) , but we have done our best to pay him homage. We hope that this introduction to India will win us (and the nation) a fist bump of approval from Trump.
