World Toilet Day: Public toilets and citizens, not a prem katha?
The United Nations declared November 19 as World Toilet Day, with the theme for 2021 drawing attention to the fact that toilets are poorly managed, underfunded, or neglected in many parts of the world.
Even though India declared itself free of open defecation in 2019, the reality is different. Surveys reveal that despite access to public toilets, many citizens continue to defecate in the open. While there are several reasons for this, a key one remains the lack of well-maintained public toilets.
Do you find yourself avoiding public toilets too? Ever wondered what you can do to ensure that public toilets are well-maintained, well-equipped and hygienic? This World Toilet Day, Civic Studios helps us answer this question.
