TV Newsance 172: Gyanvapi ka Sach, from Param Bhakts on TV news
Is it a Shivling or a fountain? This entire week on TV news was spent debating this question pertaining to the Gyanvapi mosque. Anchors turned kar sevaks and gave us minute details about a leaked report on a survey conducted at the mosque. We had experts like Amish Tripathi on NDTV and a history professor on Republic Bharat who once spoke of killing Gandhi. Navika Kumar on Times Now talked about how 'historical wounds' should be healed, except all her show did was the exact opposite.
In all of this, headlines on pollution deaths, price rise, floods, and the paper leak scam were ignored. It’s truly open season — Taj Mahal, Jama Masjid, Qutub Minar, and several other heritage sites are up for debate. But why should anchors stop there? The world should be their oyster, so we have some suggestions of our own for the Akhand Bharat they dream of.
