Rahul Shivshankar exits Times Now
Times Now chief editor Rahul Shivshankar has exited the channel.
Shivshankar’s Twitter bio has been updated to “editor-in-chief Times Now, 2016 to 2023”. A senior member of the channel’s management confirmed the news of Shivshankar’s departure. “He has moved on.”
In an email to staff, the channel’s human resources department wrote that Shivshankar has "decided to part ways with the network. In view of this, with immediate effect the operations of the channel will be under the charge of Navika Kumar, group editor. All operating content managers of the Times Now team will consequently report to Navika.”
Shivshankar, who joined the channel in 2016 after resigning as NewsX editor-in-chief, used to host the primetime show Newshour on Times Now. With more than 20 years of experience in the news industry, he has also worked with Headlines Today and India Today.
Newslaundry also learnt that Shivshankar has left the channel’s WhatsApp groups.
Shivshankar did not answer Newslaundry’s calls. Newslaundry also reached out to the channel for comment. This report will be updated if a response is received.
This is a developing story.
