Aaj Ka AQI
May 19, 2025: The air at India Gate, days after dust storms
Newslaundry visited India Gate which, among other such landmarks in Delhi, was shrouded in haze due to dust storms last week. One of the reasons for gusty winds was increasing desertification of the Aravallis. Dust storms pushed Delhi’s AQI under the poor category.
At 8 am on Monday, the AQI of the nearest monitoring station at the Major Dhyanchand National Stadium was 165 under the moderate category. CPCB data pegged the PM2.5 level at 165 and PM10 at 162.
