June 5, 2025: Taking stock of AQI measures on World Environment Day
For this episode of Aaj Ka AQI, Newslaundry reached the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change on World Environment Day. The AQI at the nearest monitoring station was pegged at 137 or in the moderate category, as per the CPCB data.
In 2019, MoEFCC rolled out one of the most important frameworks, called the National Clean Air Programme, against air pollution in 130 cities. We take stock of the progress made under NCAP and minister Bhupender Yadav’s intent to solve the crisis.
