Aaj Ka AQI
July 10, 2025: Aaj Ka AQI from NDMC office
The New Delhi Municipal Council recently announced that it will plant 4,000 bamboo saplings and 35 lakh shrubs across prominent roads and footpaths as part of its annual plantation drive this season.
For this episode of Aaj Ka AQI, we visited the NDMC office to see if the air here is better than the rest of the city. Thanks to rainfall, the AQI here was 42, which fell in the good category, while PM2.5 stood at 42 and PM10 was recorded at 28.
While plantation drives sound like a great strategy, research reveals that they do not help in mitigating greenhouse gas emissions.
