TV Newsance 308: Godi media dumps Trump, return of Media Maulana

This week on TV Newsance, our usual suspects did a full u-turn on Donald Trump.

Remember the days when they called him Modi’s ‘dear friend’ and the ‘Papa of India’? Remember the times when they praised his unmatched chemistry with the PM, even losing their minds when he pulled out a chair for Modi?

No longer. With Trump slapping secondary tariffs on India, some of which could go up to 100 percent, the Godijeevis who once clutched their MAGA hats like sacred talismans have suddenly discovered self-respect. From calling him a ‘garam tawa’ that will burn India’s enemies to labelling him shallow, clueless and an egomaniac – it’s been quite the transformation. 

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi called out Modi for staying silent on Trump’s claims of brokering a ceasefire. But Modi and his flock of netas did what they do best – they hurled the word ‘Pakistani’ like a slur – and our anchors swiftly picked up the same script. They also offered up a healthy amount of Modi bhakti, this time centred around Operation Mahadev. 

And it’s never a real week at work for our anchors if there isn’t some communal hatred on display. So, a self-proclaimed media maulana returned to our screens, and his target this time was Dimple Yadav.
