Aaj Ka AQI
Aug 18, 2025: It’s not just rainfall behind better air quality
For this episode of Aaj Ka AQI, Newslaundry visited the Jawaharlal Nehru University. The AQI at the nearest monitoring station was recorded 74, or satisfactory.
A more talked about reason behind the improvement in AQI across Delhi has been the recent rainfall. But there is a second reason, which is geographical advantage. South Delhi has 44 percent forest cover, much higher than the 4 percent in Bawana. Newslaundry had earlier reported on how the area you live in directly impacts the quality of air you breathe in.
