Aaj Ka AQI
September 4, 2025: Deer Park’s rare treat after heavy rainfall
On Thursday, Newslaundry visited the Deer Park in Hauz Khas Village for this episode of Aaj Ka AQI.
The AQI at the nearest air monitoring station in Siri Fort was 49, which fell in the ‘satisfactory’ category. Continuous rainfall has helped keep Delhi’s air quality in this category.
In this monsoon, Delhi has so far received above-normal rainfall; June saw 45 percent excess rainfall, July recorded 24 percent more than average, and August witnessed a significant 72 percent surplus.
However, Delhi’s residents cannot rely on seasonal and unpredictable factors like rain to combat air pollution; the city needs a concerted, multi-pronged approach.
