Aaj Ka AQI
September 8, 2025: Can mist sprayers do the job at Lodhi Garden?
For this episode of Aaj Ka AQI, Newslaundry visited the Lodhi Garden in New Delhi.
The AQI at the nearest air monitoring station in Lodhi Road was 64, which fell in the ‘satisfactory’ category. Continuous rainfall has helped keep Delhi’s air quality in this category, but it’s not usually the case.
Reports have earlier suggested that pollution levels are thrice as worse in the area. The government had earlier launched mist sprayers costing around Rs 34 lakh to tackle toxic air in the area. Scaling up that effort would require Rs 15 crore.
But is it worth it?
