Aaj Ka AQI
September 22, 2025: Toxic air reducing life expectancy
For this episode of Aaj Ka AQI, Newslaundry visited Sarvodaya Enclave in South Delhi. The nearest monitoring station, Aurobindo Marg, recorded a satisfactory AQI.
But with rains gone and the winter approaching, the AQI is likely to worsen further. According to a recent study by the University of Chicago, air pollution can reduce life expectancy by three-and-a-half years in India, and at least eight years in Delhi.
