Aaj Ka AQI
September 29, 2025: Another season of blame game in Delhi soon?
For this episode of Aaj Ka AQI, Newslaundry visited a bus stop at Aurobindo Ashram Marg. The nearest air quality monitoring station pegged the AQI at 69 or as satisfactory.
But AQI levels are set to plummet and the capital is likely to witness a new season of blame game.
Authorities have earlier rushed to blame external factors like stubble burning in neighbouring states or weather conditions. Though vehicular emission has been the top most contributor, contributing 51 percent to the capital’s air pollution. The most logical solution to fix the problem is by boosting public transport. But the bus fleet has shrunk from 8,200 to 5,800 vehicles.
