Oct 21, 2025: The air outside BJP office after Amit Malviya cheered firecrackers

Despite Supreme Court restrictions, Diwali celebrations were a free-for-all. Fireworks burst across Delhi and its satellite cities well past midnight, pushing the AQI to the severe category in parts of the city.

BJP leaders, including the party’s IT cell chief Amit Malviya, had cheered the use of firecrackers. “The sound of loud crackers all around is like music to the ears,” Malviya posted on X on Monday night. On Tuesday, Malviya blamed stubble-burning in AAP-governed Punjab for the depleted AQI.
