Oct 30, 2025: As haze envelops Delhi, Jahangirpuri shows action plan is only on paper
With Delhi blanketed by haze, Newslaundry visited Jahangipuri, among the 13 pollution hotspots identified by the Delhi government.
The air quality index stood at 388, which is in the “very poor” category.
The Delhi government has a special action plan to reduce air pollution in pollution hotspots such as Jahangirpuri. This includes nine major measures, including mechanical sweeping of roads, water sprinkling, and pothole repair. But the ground reality is different. The area is littered with garbage, plastic waste piled up on the roadsides, potholes filled with debris, and dust everywhere. And the action plan seems to exist only on paper.
Watch.
