Aaj Ka AQI
March 23, 2026: Delhi’s students deserve answers on the air they breathe
For today’s episode of Aaj Ka AQI, we reached Kalu Sarai in South Delhi – a hub for entrance exam coaching centres – to check the air students are breathing.
Our device pegged the AQI at 196 (PM2.5: 89, PM10: 110). But the nearby CPCB station at IIT reported the AQI at 97 (PM2.5: 65, PM10: 97).
So which data should you trust?
Despite political blame games, Delhi’s air still worsens every winter, with any recent improvement largely due to favourable weather. Even the Lieutenant Governor acknowledged concerns. But will that lead to real action?
