Was last night’s Edition of ‘The Newshour with Arnab Goswami’ his last?
Arnab Goswami stepped down as the Editor-in-Chief of Times Now and ET Now on Tuesday. Soon after, his leaving became the top trend on Twitter and speculation was rife if November 1 would be the last edition of the Newshour with Arnab Goswami.
It would appear so, given Goswami’s closing words on the debate last night. He said “Viewers, many of you called in today to give your views and speak up and join the debate. I am really sorry, we are not taking calls live. So, I couldn’t speak to you, and I want you to know tonight, and every night, bringing the Newshour to you has been my privilege. That your voice gives us strength, and that on the Newshour tonight, and everything, it is finally your voice and your participation that counts. Only for tonight, good night ladies and gentlemen and good bye.”
According to sources in the channel, Goswami received a standing ovation from a teary-eyed team once the show was over. Almost everyone from the Mumbai bureau made it to watch his last show live from the studio in Lower Parel. Goswami, after thanking everyone and giving a parting speech to the team, said he would return on Wednesday to do one last Newshour for the team. So, for those of you wanting to watch Goswami ‘at it’ for one last time, tonight is the night. While the channel is still teasing the show, what we are sure of is that yesterday was definitely not the last edition of the show.
