June 26, 2025: Waiting for treatment at AIIMS, many exposed to toxic air
Every day, thousands of patients come to AIIMS in Delhi seeking treatment. For many of them, clean air is crucial. But they are often exposed to toxic air as they wait along the road or under the underpass.
Newslaundry visited the institute on Thursday and found the AQI at the nearest monitoring station at 214 or under the poor category.
Garbage and road dust contribute to poor air quality and the Delhi government’s recent attempt to fix potholes has turned out to be inadequate.
