I am starting with the disclosure that I have been a subscriber of NL for more than a year however, I have been following NL since I watched Madhu’s interview (Can you take it) of Karan Thapar on YouTube. Gradually I got addicted to NL. But, the biggest attraction has been is #NLHafta. The panel you present in #NLHafta is always unique.

Yes, I agree with Abhinandan’s views on most of the issues (disclosure: as I have soft corner for AAP) and I disagree with Ranga Sir, but Ranga Sir with his data driven approach has amazed me many times. His article on Ambedkar was outstanding as Abhinandan’s piece on reservation. Abhinandan, you did an awesome job when you spoke to AnupamKher and I loved every bit of it. But your latest interview with AK was not that great may be because of the set-up or the rapport with him.

Manisha’s The Inside Story of Demonic Possession was fabulous as Deepanjana’s 1st episode of the Awesome and the Aweful series.

And the value Madhu with her vast experience, brings to the table is unmatchable. For example, how she presented her experience during News Track days how perspective changes in Kashmir is unbelievable.  Please restart Can You Take It? She is a role model for everyone who wants to conduct an interview. Only time I felt she or the interview could have been better was with RanaAyub due to the interruptions.

I have enjoyed the episodes when you got Ashok Malik, HartoshBal and Ravish Kumar. I would like to see some interesting people like Chitra, Sucheta In future. Looking forward to have special episode with people like Rahul Pandita and many more who are real experts on Kashmir.

I really appreciate you guys for being very accommodative of each others’ views and that has been one of my biggest learning.

Cheers,
Saugat (I spell it as ‘Shougato’, please ask Deepanjana to help 🙂

Dear NL team,

I am a subscriber because I believe when Sekhri says that when corporates pay the news is subservient to their interests. Working in corporate world I see this muck and its working up close and am disillusioned with mainstream media and specifically with the so called most popular and widely read.

I find Abhinandan’s purposefully nonchalantly approach towards some serious topics and few self-righteous and all too important people refreshing. (Tavleen Singh was behaving like a bully in her interview for reasons unbeknown to viewers and AnupamKher was unable to draw a distinction between jingoism, nationalism and patriotism, phew!)

During the 90s as a teenager I was enamoured with Madhu and she is a big reason why I first started watching NL; at times I do not agree with her views as she appears oblivious to the nuances and responsibility she carries as a seasoned journalist whose views matter e.g.  Militant versus terrorist distinction, the words we choose are extremely important; psyche is developed and scientific research corroborates. Last week her point about Chinese sending Hun to populate and complete the amalgamation of Tibet was very disconcerting and in poor taste and surely such an act by India for Kashmir is not a solution. However, I agree that had there been no curbs on settlement then trading communities and labour would have migrated and settled on their own account in Kashmir looking for opportunities and this would have helped a lot in Kashmir becoming a multicultural society.

The suggested article on Herojit was amazing, it’s a shame that we do not have these things debated or discussed anywhere and these are ominous signs of the collective decadence of society.

P.S. please let me know if this is the only mail address to send comments, feedback, suggestions…

Cheers,
Rajiv
