Prabhat Singh is a 31-year-old journalist based out of Dantewada in south Bastar. He was arrested in March this year for a WhatsApp message under sections 292 and 67 of the Information Technology Act. Singh believes the arrest had more to do with him taking on the state and questioning policies with regard to fighting Maoism. Singh is currently out on bail. He tells us about the tough life of a stringer in Chhattisgarh — most work for paltry sums and come under pressure from both the state and Maoists.
