Katju has been booked for sedition by a JD(U) MLC for what he calls was a joke
Markandey Katju, known for his prolific commentary and witty (sometimes bordering on hilarious) social media posts, is now facing a sedition charge. Janata Dal (United) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar filed the case against him after Katju in a Facebook update offered a “package deal” to Pakistan, offering Kashmir only if it takes Bihar too. Ironically enough, the former Chairman of the Press Council of India, has spoken vehemently against the misuse of the sedition law in the country.

ContributeIn this interview, Katju clarifies that the “package deal” status was a joke and rues that Indians, especially politicians, do not have any sense of humour.
