Following a week’s break, TV Newsance is back with the worst of the worst on television news.

Channels queued up to applaud their one true love:  PM Modi, who inaugurated the new Parliament building on May 28. The usual suspects gushed so much over this historic occasion that they completely sidelined the wrestlers’ protest happening just a few kilometres away.

When the protest finally got their attention, news stalwarts like Amish Devgan, Aman Chopra and Sudhir Chaudhary had very similar talking points – almost as if a toolkit had been shared with them. They argued that the wrestlers were being too political, too irrational, and that their medals belonged to India, not them alone.
