The Delhi University Student Union election is all set to happen on Friday, September 22. Thousands of students will cast their votes to decide the new union at the collegiate level and the central DUSU panel.

Eight students have filed nominations for the post of DUSU’s president. Four are independent while the other four belong to the following groups: the RSS-backed Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, the Congress-backed National Students’ Union of India, the All India Students’ Association, and the Students’ Federation of India.

Newslaundry spent the day with some of the candidates to understand their aspirations, hopes, and why they decided to contest DUSU’s most sought-after seat.
