Abhinandan looks at the worst of this week in the world of TV news. We start off with the trend of politicians being given a free pass on air; no questions asked.

Our second pit stop is Aman Chopra aka Venom Chopra, who was caught doing what he does best. When he couldn’t find logic to assert a link between Kalamassery blast case and Hamas, he insisted that there could be one in future.

This art of speculation was exemplified by Godi media’s coverage of the Apple threat notification. Much before the government’s response, Godi channels were ready with their “sources” to term it an algorithm malfunction. And predictably, they also found a George Soros link.

The Supreme Court, meanwhile, heard the petitions against the electoral bonds scheme and reserved its verdict. But did Godi media give us wall-to-wall coverage of the issue which casts a large shadow on Indian democracy? Or was it busy covering Seema Haider’s karwa chauth?
