The podcast where we discuss the news of the week.
This week, Newslaundry’s Abhinandan Sekhri, Manisha Pande, and Jayashree Arunachal are joined by senior journalist Sreenivasan Jain and Lokniti-CSDS co-director Sanjay Kumar.
On Haryana election exit polls’ failure, Sanjay explains the sampling methodology used in the state, pollsters’ pre-poll and exit poll approaches, and the procedure of mainstream media’s ground surveys. “The difficulty is that many pollsters or organisations are not putting out the details of their methodology.”
The panel then discusses the state of media and journalists in war-torn regions. Sreenivasan says, “About 150 journalists have been killed so far in Gaza.” Jayashree says Israel is committing every definition of genocide.
The conversation then moves on to the US elections. Sreenivasan says his coverage of the US elections will be focused on presenting it from an Indian perspective, and highlighting how democracy is in danger in countries such as the US as well.
This and more, tune in!
