In a week when China is inviting the world’s biggest companies to Beijing to attract foreign investment, India was busy with holding people in power accountable – the ones that held power in the 16th century. Questioning the “Aurangzeb Premi Gang” yet again, TV news continued its proud tradition of using a long dead Mughal emperor to distract from real issues. 

As communal violence broke out in Nagpur, TV news anchors diligently assembled to fan the flames with misinformation and blame games.
