The Indian right-wing is once again up in arms hounding everyone who is not on their side. This time, the target of their ire is a mainstream Malayalam action film, which dares to depict the 2002 Gujarat riots. 

Even though Empuraan admittedly shows a fictionalised version of the events, the Hindu right-wing has taken strong objection to the film. In the face of this outrage, actor Mohanlal has expressed regret over the film content, much to the dismay of people who have supported Empuraan
