The world of Indian news podcasts just got weird – gush-fests, rival rants, and spiritual TRP boosters.

First up: Navika Kumar and Ranveer Allahabadia – an unlikely duo who get way too gushy. From singing songs, “decoding Gen Z,” to Navika casually saying she’s in the business of facts – the vibes were weird. And yes, this is the same Navika who once called Ranveer a crass influencer who had crossed the “Lakshman rekha.” Talk about a plot twist.

Next: India Today’s vice chairperson Kalli Purie took many digs at NDTV for “copying” her channels on Smita Prakash’s ANI podcast. And Purie insisted her group has no “commercial interests,” their track record of cozying up to Modi, big business, and peddling communal masala says otherwise.

Finally: NDTV’s new TRP formula feels all too familiar – put controversial godmen on primetime. This week’s star: Rambhadracharya, known for casteist, communal, and ignorant remarks. The podcaster-anchor Shubhankar Mishra had such incisive questions as whether there should be inter-caste marriages.
