As peaceful anti-corruption protests in Nepal spiraled into deadly violence, the army has stepped in to restore order. From Delhi, Nepali students are anxiously watching events unfold back home.

They speak of fear for their families, frustration with Nepal’s leaders, and a yearning for true democracy.

Diksha Koirala, a literature student at JNU, says, “These protests weren’t just about a social media ban. They were about corruption. People had suffered too much. It began peacefully, but then PM Oli ordered killings. That angered students further.”
