This week on TV Newsance, we wish you a very Happy Diwali! And yes, we’ve brought you a very special Diwali gift – a subscription offer that helps keep journalism free and fearless. Just click here.

Meanwhile, the Godi sphere was as explosive as ever with fights, fake outrage, and enough drama to light up every TRP diya in town. When Aroon Purie finally admitted that journalism is sinking under the weight of ad revenue and corporate control, we couldn’t help but say, “Welcome to the club, sir!” Ever since Adani took over NDTV, it seems every big name from India Today has been poached, and the once-trusted newsroom now looks like a glossier, high-budget version of India Today with extra Adani sparkle.

Coming to the biggest news of last week: the Taliban Foreign Minister was in town and our dear leader did the biggest flip from “Good Taliban Bad Taliban nahi chalega” to Taliban good. Yes, the same Taliban who have suppressed women’s rights and triggered mass hunger in Afghanistan. And the same Taliban who didn’t allow women journalists in its first press conference in India. Then again, Modiji is always a step ahead because he hasn’t given a press conference to anyone at all.

And because everything from propaganda to PR is now possible in the Godi universe, we thought we’d join the celebration with our own special dance number, “Godi Hai Toh Mumkin Hai”. Watch the full episode and let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
