On November 6, while polling was underway in 121 seats in Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a crowd in Bhagalpur. The audience seethed with excitement, telling Newslaundry that under the NDA, the state’s roads and rations had improved, and that the “government was working so well”.

But even as the slogans and cheers rang out, there were pockets of uncertainty in the crowd.

One man alleged that “people wearing black” weren’t allowed to attend the rally for “security reasons”. Another alleged that members of the crowd were paid Rs 500 each to show up.

So, what was the mood at Modi’s rally? And what might it mean for how the state will vote? Watch.
